Production, prototype, and one-of-a-kind gray and ductile iron castings for engineering and architectural applications.
Flexible casting of gray and ductile iron means smaller batches, shorter leadtimes, and cheaper tooling. With jolt squeeze molding in green sand and cope and drag molding in no bake sand, O. K. Foundry Co., Inc. makes gray and ductile iron castings in small batches or medium volume runs.
Flexible casting means shorter leadtimes!
Your options with OK Foundry include:
Cope and drag molding in urethane resin bonded sand is the most flexible process for cast large gray and ductile iron castings. Almost any pattern can be adapted to no bake molding for easy migration of existing patterns and new patterns are inexpensive compared to green sand cope and drag lines. Urethane resin bonded sand molds are very strong and make heavy gray and ductile iron castings dimensionally accurate. At 80 molds per shift on a conveyor line complete with rollover draw, larger volumes of gray and ductile iron castings are made quickly.
No-bake molding for gray and ductile iron castings up to 700 lbs.
Experienced molders with traditional jolt squeeze machines allow quick setups of lighter castings. Unlike automatic molding equipment, our jolt squeeze molders can setup any flask size in minutes. With complete overhead sand supply and high volume pallet lines orders for 100's or 1000's of green sand castings are made efficiently.
Jolt squeezer molding for quick delivery of small castings.
Flexibility is again the key, and whether you need just a handful of castings or regular shipments of 1000's, our jolt squeeze molding line is the flexible solution.
With a flexible foundry you can purchase smaller volumes more frequently. Less money is tied up in castings, quality problems are corrected sooner, and design changes implemented faster.
OK Foundry's molding lines and small batch furnaces allow for quick setup and smaller batch sizes. We need as little as 1,500 lbs. of casting demand to batch a furnace heat for gray or ductile iron. This means shorter lead times for small orders.
The global economy has created opportunities for domestic manufacturers like never before. Even small batches of castings can be purchased offshore at steep discounts to domestic supply. O. K. Foundry recognizes that some markets demand inexpensive castings and supports global sourcing with contingency supplies of global sourced castings.
Flexible casting for contingency support of imported casting supply chains.
Having a domestic foundry in your corner can reduce the risk of an off shore casting supply. Whether you need pattern mastering, backup tooling, contingency supply, or assistance with globally sourcing castings, OK Foundry can help.
